Slapstick was one of the most successful cinematographic genres in the twenties, when cinema had its big boom and became a great phenomenom.

Characteristics

One of its most characteristic features is the appearence of physical and visual violoence, that includes persecutions or people falling and knocking each other, everything to make people laugh. Also, it's very common the exaggeration of gestures.
